How The Kratom Council sources, discloses, and corrects its reporting.
Disclosure
The Kratom Council is owned by NWB Distribution LP, which also operates the retailer NuWave Botanicals. This ownership is disclosed in the footer of every page and on our About page. We do not publish sponsored articles disguised as news, and we do not accept payment to cover or omit a story.
Sourcing
- Every report is built from public records, government and agency publications, peer-reviewed research, and named news outlets. Sources are listed at the foot of each article with direct links.
- We do not fabricate sources, quotes, statistics, or study names. If a fact cannot be verified against a real, citable source, it does not run.
- Statements about kratom's pharmacology or effects are attributed to the researchers, agencies, or publications that made them. We report claims; we do not adopt them as our own.
No health claims
The Kratom Council does not claim that kratom produces any specific effect, benefit, or outcome, and does not offer medical, health, or legal advice. Coverage of scientific and regulatory debate is not an endorsement of any use of kratom. Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the FDA; kratom is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. To request a correction, email orders@nuwavebotanicals.com with the article and the specific point in question.
Independence of coverage from commerce
Because we are owned by a company that sells kratom, we hold ourselves to a simple line: coverage decisions are made on newsworthiness, not on whether a story helps or hurts kratom sales. We cover bans, enforcement actions, and safety advisories on the same terms as favorable developments.
