About The Kratom Council
The Kratom Council is a news publication covering kratom policy, regulation, and industry in the United States.
Who publishes this site
The Kratom Council is owned and operated by NWB Distribution LP, a Texas-based company that also operates the kratom retailer NuWave Botanicals (nuwavebotanicals.com). We state this affiliation plainly on every page of the site. We think readers deserve to know who is behind the publications they read, especially in an industry where the line between advocacy, commerce, and journalism is often blurred.
Being affiliated with a kratom retailer does not mean this site exists to sell kratom. The Kratom Council does not sell products, does not take payment for coverage, and does not exist to funnel readers to any store. When we cover regulation — including enforcement actions, bans, and safety advisories that are unfavorable to the industry — we report them straight.
What we cover
- Regulation — state bills, consumer-protection acts, municipal enforcement, tribal action, and federal agency positions (FDA, DEA, and others).
- Industry — the businesses, market trends, and local economies connected to kratom and kava.
- Science — how researchers and public-health bodies characterize kratom and its alkaloids, reported as findings from named sources.
What we don't do
We do not make health claims about kratom. We do not tell readers what kratom will do for them, and we do not present the plant as a treatment for any condition. Where our reporting references what researchers, agencies, or users have said about kratom's effects, that material is attributed to its source and presented as reporting, not as advice or endorsement. Statements about kratom on this site have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
A note on our history
An earlier version of The Kratom Council was built by an outside agency and did not disclose its commercial ties clearly. This version is a deliberate reset: transparent ownership, factual sourcing, no hidden funnels. If you ever find a page that falls short of that standard, tell us at orders@nuwavebotanicals.com and we will correct it.
